Unit 2: My Friends and I

Likes and dislikes, favorite activities, comparing our preferences.
The unit lasts for 5 days.

Objectives

Students will be able to:

• Ask their classmates how they are and be able to respond to their classmates' similar questions
• Express and discuss their likes, dislikes and preferences about things, school and extra-curricular activities

Lessons

• Day 1: Likes and dislikes
• Day 2: Favorite activities
• Day 3: Comparing our preferences
• Day 4: Other people's likes and dislikes
• Day 5: Classroom presentation

Meeting the Language Learning Continuum

• Students will understand
  -   familiar ideas in clear, simple speech when listening
  -   short, illustrated text when reading
• Students will be able to understand and convey information about self and beyond self.
• Students will demonstrate Stage One functions in communicating, with some errors that do not hinder comprehension.
