Second Language Testing, Inc., in Rockville, MD, is seeking native Target Language Experts (TLEs) of uncommon languages to collaborate on a translation/interpretation test for a USG agency. Work will be part-time and temporary and will begin between mid-October and December 1. Any necessary training will be provided. Our requirements are as follows:

- Our client prefers citizens, but will consider green card holders. They will only hire employees with other statuses if there are no alternatives.
- TLEs with training in or familiarity with the ILR scale STRONGLY preferred.
- TLEs located in the Washington, DC, metro area strongly preferred, but others will be considered.
- TLEs must have a strong command of English and be able to translate from their native language into English.
- TLEs must be native speakers who were educated to at least a high school level in at least one or more of the following languages: Afrikaans, Baluchi (Makrani), Bengali, Cambodian, Chechen, Danish, Dinka, Dhivehi, Estonian, Fulani, Georgian, Gujarati, Haitian Creole, Hakka Sixian, Indonesian, Kalenjin, Kikuyu (Kenyan), Kurdish (Bahdini), Lao, Luo (Kenyan), Maay-Maay, Maguindanao, Marathi, Pashto (Pakistani), Punjabi (Eastern), Saraiki, Sindhi, Somali, Swahili, Tajik, Telegu, Tigrinya, Turkmen

Information about the work itself:
- Assignments will consist of finding a listening passage or a written passage, providing an English translation according to a long list of specifications, and possibly providing a Romanized version (if the language is written in a non-Latin alphabet) and/or a transcript (for listening passages).
- Each assignment will take a total of approx. 20-40 hrs, and the total number of assignments will depend on the client and the language.
